Hanna Baraban is a political analyst, journalist, and expert in International relations.
She holds BA in International Journalism and International Law. Worked as a political journalist for more than 5 years, being one of the few independent reporters covering the Belarusian presidential election in 2015. In 2018, while obtaining a Master’s degree in International Security at the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), she joined the European Institute of the Mediterranean – one of the biggest think tanks in Barcelona. Later that year Hanna did a research internship at the UN-Habitat’s branch located in Barcelona. In 2020, she worked as a Research Editor at Dow Jones, where she strengthened her skills in international security, relations, and media research. In August 2020, Hanna left the corporate job in order to oversee and analyze the developments in Belarus. During those times, she actively collaborated with the international media (Radio Free Europe, Al Jazeera, EU Observer, and others).
Hanna's main academic interests include international security, Eastern European affairs (Ukraine / Russia / Belarus), relations between the EU and Eastern European countries, sanctions, and the influence of media and religion in the political processes.
