Lucia Yar is Acting Editor-in-Chief at EURACTIV Slovakia and PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava. Lucia studied Journalism at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava, and European Studies at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava. She had since completed several study visits, including at Ghent University, Helsinki University, Yaşar University in Izmir, as well as internships (including the European Commission). In her professional life, she has been focusing on Security and Defence (in the NATO and EU context), External Relations of the EU (particularly Candidate Countries to the EU, and the Middle East), and Digital Policy of the EU. However, her main expertise lies in politics of Turkey (current, historical and contextual developments) and gender related policies (esp. feminist diplomacy and gender equality in political leadership). Lucia is an experience commentator (mostly in Slovak nation-wide papers, radios, and TVs), lecturer (Comenius University in Slovakia, European Security and Defence College) and moderator of panels (never ´manels´).
